Eglinton Eyecare visits local Schools during National Eye Health Week

We visited lots of classes in our local primary schools to raise awareness of the importance of looking after our eyes during National Eye Health Week in September. The children learned all about the parts of the eye, foods that are good for our eyes, how we can protect our eyes in the sun, how to avoid injuries to our eyes, what happens during an eye exam and we played some games to highlight how life would be if you had limited or no vision.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trips round all the schools and hopefully the children enjoyed our workshops and the goody bags they took home afterwards.

A lot of parents don’t realise that all children should have regular eye exams, just like going to the dentist. If your child is of school-age and hasn’t had an eye exam in the last year, don’t hesitate to give us a ring and we’ll arrange an appointment. A simple eye exam will give you peace of mind that they can see perfectly and that their eyes are healthy. It’s amazing how many children struggle at school because of their vision, which is easily correctable.
